Sunday, October 28, 2018 - The United Methodist Social Principles: The Social Community, Part 2 - The field of social psychology provides insight into the basic - and strong - human tendency to break into 'teams' that create 'others' to identify 'us'.  The tension between other basic human instincts such as compassion and fairness with order and predictability helps fuel the polarization we see today.  Understanding this helps us live together in community, even with contrasting ideas.
